A Nairobi parent has reported that his son was knocked down by a red car along Ngong Road, leaving the family devastated when the driver vanished immediately after the accident.
The man said the incident occurred on a Sunday while the family was heading to church, and he added that the driver appeared drunk and careless. He explained that the vehicle almost hit the entire family, but he shouted to alert them, preventing further tragedy.
The parent stated that their journey to church was abruptly halted, and they had to call traffic police to transport their son’s body to a nearby mortuary.
He recalled his wife screaming in grief, repeatedly crying, “my son… my son has been killed, please help,” describing it as one of the most painful moments of their lives.
He explained that after the burial, pursuing insurance compensation became extremely difficult because they lacked both the vehicle’s number plate and any clue about the suspect.
