Miriam, a resident of Iganga, disclosed that she endured unimaginable pain throughout her five-year marriage. She explained that at the start, her home was filled with joy, cooperation, and shared dreams. However, over time, the atmosphere began to change.
According to Miriam, her husband, Daniel, started arriving home late and gradually stopped communicating with her. Before she could comprehend the situation, he began openly expressing affection for another woman.
She revealed that the most agonizing part was not just the betrayal but the humiliation. Miriam said that every Sunday, Daniel would bring his mistress into their home, walk past her as if she were invisible, and sit with the woman in the living room.
She added that sometimes they even prepared meals together while she watched quietly, heartbroken. Miriam reported that Daniel finally told her, “I don’t love you anymore. If you can’t leave, you will just have to accept her presence.”
Miriam shared that she approached elders, pastors, her family, and even Daniel’s relatives for help, but nothing improved. She said the situation worsened when the mistress began staying in their bedroom, while she was forced to sleep in the children’s room.
She added that neighbors in Iganga were aware of the situation, whispering and, in some cases, mocking her. Miriam confessed that she felt abandoned, embarrassed, and utterly hopeless.
