“My Shop Became a Magnet, Customers Flood It Alot– Here’s the Secret I’m Using” – Joan’s Journey

Running a small business in Uganda isn’t a walk in the park. Many business owners open their doors early, work hard throughout the day, and put in long hours, yet customers still seem to pass by without stopping. I went through this struggle for nearly three years.

I’m Joan, a shop owner based in Kireka, and the path to making my business thrive has been long, challenging, and full of setbacks. But today, I’m proud to say that my shop is now one of the busiest in the area.

From dawn to dusk, customers now pour in like houseflies, and I’m finally experiencing the success I had always hoped for. I’m sharing my story because I know there are many others in business who are quietly facing the same difficulties, and perhaps my journey can inspire someone else.

For years, I thought that hard work alone would be enough. I made sure my shop was stocked with quality products, cleaned it each morning, and displayed everything neatly.

I even ran small promotions from time to time. But despite all my efforts, people still walked past my shop and bought from my competitors. On some days, I would stand at my door for hours without seeing a single customer.

Meanwhile, my competitors were constantly selling out their stock and restocking every few days. I felt embarrassed, frustrated, and at my wit’s end.
