As a Member of Parliament, Jackson Lee Buti of Arua Central Division undertook several assignments that yielded bearing on the social and economic status of the people both locally and nationally.
One such assignment was his appointment as the government’s regional whip for West Nile.
He used the position to coordinated meetings with different ministries including the ministry of works and transport that resulted into the rehabilitation of the Pakwach-Nebbi-Arua road.
Atima said he also actively pursued the issue of connection of West Nile to the National electricity grid. The power distribution substation at Muni has been built and commissioned by President Museveni for that purpose and what is remaining is distribution of the power to rural areas, something the energy ministry has promised will be done in the next year.

Atima told the people of Orphanage cell and Oyoze cell during campaign rallies on Thursday that he also lobbied for handheld tractors which the government gave to the districts in West Nile, Acholi and Lango and people are using there walking tractors for farming.
He said the Arua city’s tractor and that for Koboko municipality are on their way coming.
“I pursued the plight of the unpaid tobacco farmers and the ministry of finance has worked with the concerned companies and availed sh10b to pay off the arrears of the tobacco farmers,” he added.
The legislator who is seeking a second term to represent the central Division also reminded the people of the works he did to support the improvement of the welfare of the market vendors and religious institutions.
Alice Omikuru, Mvara Cell, a street vendor who deals in tomatoes, vegetables and other perishable merchandise is city dweller who has risen to Atima’s defense.
“We have suffered being chased around by the Central Division and City enforcement personnel. But our relief came when MP Atima intervened and the inconvenience was halted,” she testified.

“We will support him no matter what some people say. He is the leader of the caliber that suits our situation,” Omikuru emphatically declared.
Atima said what is remaining on his development agenda of priorities is equipping and operationalizing the youth skills center and enhance business-to-business linkages to promote trade and commerce in Arua Central Division.
“It is on account of this performance that I am asking the people to turn up on January 15 i2026 in big numbers to vote for me and president Museveni,” appealed Atma.

Abdalla Anite Abuni, Bibia cell has responded in the affirmative to Atima’s appeal, saying acknowledging that the MP’s performance sets him apart from others, especially his close identification with the community in moments of distress.
“Atima treats every constituent equally regardless of religion, tribe or education level. This is why we give him solid support,” she said.
