For the third day running, the National Resistance Movement leadership of Arua Central Division has teamed with the campaign management team of Jackson Lee Atima, the incumbent Member of Parliament, covering for his absence as he attends to national duties in Kampala.
“This is the essence of being the flag bearer. We are campaigning because NRM owns Hon Atima, declared a part member.
This was during the rallies in Congo and Zambia Cells in Mvara Ward, following the earlier campaigns in Sambia North and Awindiri South Cells.
Atima is defending the flag of the ruling part and his parliamentary seat against a plethora of opponents including some whom he defeated in the primary elections.
Loice Kazuba, a resident of Zambia Cell, could not hide her excitement as she received the campaign team in her area.

She lauded MP Atima for being a humble leader who is down-to-earth and stands out as a unifying figure in the cosmopolitan municipality.
A fish monger b trade, Kazuba recalls being rescued b Atima when the Arua Central Division council under Maor Muzaid Khemis moved to evict fish mongers from the Arua main market, claiming that they were only fit enough to be in Kiruabu market.
“Atima stood for us to remain in the strategically located central market which is easily accessible b the consumers. He also helped us when our fish was impounded at Pakwach by the Uganda Revenue Authority enforcement team and our fish was saved from destruction,” she said.
“This is the kind of leader we want as our representative in the parliament of Uganda,” declared Kazuba.
She was flanked by Sarah Amon, the Arua central Division NRM chairperson who said the constituency needs serious leaders and Atima stands out in that rank.
“He recently brought solar power systems to Arua hospital and when he led a delegation to meet with President power Museveni, the president offered 10 science scholarships for Arua Central Division. That is a big achievement,” Amon added.
Joining the campaign team was Rose Ayaka, the former Maracha district Woman Member of Parliament who is spouse to the incumbent MP.

Ayaka appealed to the people of Arua central Division to renew Atima’s mandate so as to continue with the tangible development and effective representation of the Division in the legislation House.
Ahmed Miria, the campaign manager took the rally from exciting to dramatic as he pointed out one achievement after another ranging from support to churches and mosques and people of all walks regardless of age, tribe and occupation.
He listed the support to Irishad Mosque, the Kibuli faction mosque in Arua, Ojulua catholic church and St Phillips Anglican church all of which took between sh25m to sh40 million.
The MP is also said to be paying tuition for 39 students at Apex University, 15 youths at Omugo technical institute and 10 nursing students at the Arua school of comprehensive school of nursing and midwifery whose choice was based on merit and financial considerations.
Also recognized was Atima’s lobbing that resulted into the URA allowing bodaboda youths to register their motorcycles at subsidized costs and the settlement of the chaos in the Arua main market where allegations of corruption and discrimination were rampant.
Miria told the people that Atima still has unfinished business to do especially, the equipping a skills training center for the youths for which a house has already been secured.

Davis Edema, the former Forum for Democratic Change publicity secretary for Arua Central Division who defected to the NRM a fortnight ago described Atima’s performance in the parliament and back at home in the constituency as spectacular.
He urged everyone including those in the race against Atima to join the NRM bus and stop wasting peoples time in opposition.
