In the neighborhood of Uganda Peoples defence forces Bondo barracks in Arua district, is a church established by the unique plan and choice of God.
It is the fourth church under the FAVOUR Prayer Church ministries and is serving not only the spiritual needs of the local population but also the devote members of the armed forces who like the Cornelius of Acts 10:2 are dedicated Christians longing to see the kingdom of God.
Pastor James Obetia, the head of the ministry says that through the church, the Holy Spirit carries out healing and deliverance of those under the oppression by Satan.
“We are glad to have this church at the army barracks because the God we serve is the Holy Ghost; the God who fights the enemy,” declared Obetia.
He added: “Therefore, devote soldiers are best placed to be intercessors because they are trained to follow commands. It should be easy for them to shout on demonic spirits and achieve expulsion.”
The pastor explains that God speaks to his people at the time and place of his choice and when He chooses to build a place for his dwelling, he decides the location.
He pointed out that in previous years when there was no church where people could worship God in truth and spirit at Bondo, many evil things happened of which the people needed deliverance, but they could not get help.
“There was unhappiness, sickness, the devil kept stealing their treasures and blocking their blessings, witchdoctors were deceiving people with impunity because there was no prophet or prophetess,” he said.
Pr Obetia says it is on account of such episodes that God saw the plight of the people and ordained a church for them in line with Jeremiah 25:1-5 to address the issues tormenting them.
“Evil takes root because of sin but as we repent and ask for forgiveness, the Lord will change the destiny of your homes, your offices and your businesses,” he counselled.
The FAVOUR church in Bondo began in 2003 with three families of Richard Wani, Rodgers Bayo and Patrick Odock decided to pray together, rotating from home to home and sharing in thve social challenges facing them.
Eventually more families joined in, and this made them to invite Pastor Obetia and Prophetess Grace Ayikoru to pray with them, hence the birth of the healing and deliverance church.
Obetia urged the people to listen to the teachings and instructions from the appointed servants of God and act on them in order to achieve breakthrough.
“When the servant of God tells you to forgive your oppressor, do not waste time because that is how you are going to get delivered,” he said.
He called on the spirit of humility and servanthood to prevail among the church leadership, decrying that pride and boastfulness is not the way God operates.
God, he said, wants us to be humble that there should be no pride, anger etc. “We will lower ourselves and allow Jesus to rise to His majestic glory.”
