ARUA: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2024

It was a moving message during a deliverance session at the Odia based revival church in Arua district on Wednesday to assuage many heartbroken couples seeking emotional and spiritual support.

Prophetess Grace Ayikoru emphasized the importance of Christians strengthening the bond within their families as a foundation for the growth of the church and societal wellbeing.

She said there are many people contemplating divorcing their partners and yet they spend a lot of their time searching and yearning to be in a family of their own.

“You want to divorce your spouse and then where do you want to go? she quipped, adding that many people keep wondering from one marriage partner to another without paying attention to the spiritual guidance.

“If we look beautiful and yet we divorce our partners, where shall we end? Are we going to pray in vain? Are we going to dance for nothing? Ayikoru continued.

A shaky family translates into a shaky foundation for the church and is a bad example for Christian living.

The prophetess said many people go to church to pray for marriages but when they get a partner they hardly stick together for long.

She outlined some of the root causes of the rampant instability in families as socio-economic difficulties like poverty, barrenness, jealousy, gossip, envy, lack of respect, uncontrollable craving for earthly things among others.

Ayikoru warned that consequences for family breakups are dire, especially for women and children who may end up being exposed to exploitation, diseases and more distress due to lack of adequate support options.

“Marriage is a union bound together by God. Therefor stick to your marriage and overcome any challenges by seeking the indulgence of Christ,” she counselled.

“You want to keep the servants of God busy only praying for you for a partner, when will they pray for other people?” she questioned.

Prophetess Ayikoru is the head of FAVOUR Prayer Center, a Pentecostal church whose name is derived from the acronym for Faithful Actions, Value of Universal Righteousness.

It is a church that promotes the spiritual and social wellbeing of the people through prophesies, counselling, healing and deliverance.
